What is 24 Frames?

24 Frames, also stylized as “24Frames”, is a student filmmaking organization of CIIT College of Arts and Technology, one of the top Multimedia Art schools located in Quezon City, Philippines. The organization is committed to training a new generation of passionate Filipino videographers and filmmakers in the pursuit of Philippine cinema.

It was founded by Josh Fernandez on June 14, 2014. Amidst mainstream films upheaval, the battle cry, burden and calling of 24 Frames is to lift up Filipino talents in cinematography, filmmaking and film conceptualizations to inspire people and give impact to audiences. 24 Frames believed that it should be started within the next generation of Filipinos to redeem the former glory of Philippine cinema.

Officers

  • The Foundation

    24 Frames started with 20 pioneer members under its founder, Josh Fernandez. After a few months of success, the org launched its seasonal film showing called ‘Tanghalian Box Office” cater the CIITzen community.

  • The Foundation

    24 Frames launched its first weekly short film challenge for the org members to practice their skills in filmmaking. Soon after, the org invited several people from film industry to conduct workshops and seminars.

  • 24F Multimedia Production was born

    24 Frames created an adjunct to equip members who are doing freelance work outside of CIIT, the group of videographers and media freelancers that led into the creation of 24F Multimedia Production, spearheaded by its Production Head, Amiel Kabigting. In the same year, the org launched its own official website.

  • Cineksena

    24 Frames launched its talk event called “Cineksena.” Multiple speakers from film industry were invited to speak. At this point, several film projects were made in the pursuit of submitting films to a few prestige festivals across the Philippines.

  • FeatureXFuture era

    The org entered into a new chapter as CIIT moved to its new campus building along Kamuning Road in Quezon City, 24 Frames rebranded its theme as “FeatureXFuture” to give emphasis on giving out the best for Philippine cinema. 24 Frames received the outstanding achievement award by CIIT for being the longest continuous existing school organization.

  • Sine Siklab

    Ryven Rabang and Josh Roque created Sine Siklab, an inter-school film festival that opened its doors to all CIITzens to showcase their talents and skills in filmmaking. In the same year, 24 Frames celebrated its 5th year as an organization.

  • Burn Brighter

    As the world impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, all 24 Frames activities and events went online. The second edition of Sine Siklab transitioned into a virtual film festival, received over 30 entries from various schools and universities all throughout the archipelago.

  • Make Your Reel Real

    The org launched the “Make Your Reel Real” theme. 24 Frames continued to maintain its mandate for the members in the midst of the worldwide pandemic. Several org activities continued to conduct online and webinars were livestreamed on its official social platforms.
